Someone builds from a superseded drawing because it was the one in their email.
Subcontractors need one folder each, not access to the whole project.
Marking up a drawing means getting back to a laptop, so it waits until evening.
Site photos pile up with no structure and become unfindable within a week.
In practice
How NevTan Drive handles it
Mark up a drawing where you are
Open a PDF in the browser on a phone or tablet, highlight, draw and add notes, and save it back.
A folder per package
Give each subcontractor access to their package only, as Viewer or Editor, rather than the whole project.
Links that expire with the trade
A subcontractor's link can stop working on a date, so access ends when the work does.
Site photos that preview
Photos, PDFs and video open in the browser without downloading, which matters on a site connection.
Fix the PDF in place
Rotate, reorder, split, merge and number pages, or drop pages out of a drawing set, without a desktop application.
Questions stay on the file
Comments attach to the file itself and are gated by role, so an RFI is not buried in somebody's inbox.
Large drawing sets, previewed
A full-size drawing set or a folder of site photography opens in the browser at full resolution without downloading the file first — which matters most on a phone on site, where the download is the slow part.
From revision to site
Create a folder per package and upload the current drawing set.
Invite each subcontractor to their own folder with the role they need.
Send external parties an expiring link rather than adding them as collaborators.
Mark up queries on the PDF from the phone, on site, and save.
When a revision lands, replace it in the one folder everyone is already looking at.
Questions
Construction teams ask
Straight answers, including where NevTan Drive is not the right tool.
Is this construction document management software?
It is the document side of it: drawing sets, RFIs, site photos and handover packs, marked up from a phone and shared with a password or an expiry. It does not schedule, cost or run a programme — if you need a full construction management platform, this sits alongside one rather than replacing it.
How large can a drawing file be?
Single files can be up to 100 MB. That is comfortable for most PDF drawing sets, but native CAD or federated BIM models frequently exceed it — worth checking against your own files before you plan a migration around Drive.
Can I mark up a drawing on a phone?
Yes. The PDF editor is built to work at phone widths, so highlighting, drawing and adding notes work from a phone browser with nothing to install.
Can subcontractors see only their own package?
Yes. Access is granted per file and per folder with Viewer, Commenter or Editor roles, so a subcontractor can be given their package without the rest of the project.
