Why teams switch from Google Drive

The tool they needed turned out to be one tier up. Signing a PDF, putting a password on a link or reading an access log each pushed them into a higher Workspace edition for the whole company.
They wanted Office files, not exports. Working in .docx and .xlsx from the start removes the conversion step and the formatting argument that comes with it.

Can I open my Google Docs files in NevTan Drive?

Export them from Google as .docx, .xlsx or .pptx — Google Takeout does this by default — and NevTan Drive's editors open them directly and save them back in the same formats.

Does NevTan Drive do real-time collaborative editing like Google Docs?

Google's simultaneous co-editing is the strongest in the category and NevTan Drive does not try to match it. Drive's collaboration is role-based: Viewer, Commenter and Editor access per file, comments attached to the file, and a record of every change of access in the file's audit log.
