The short answer
Dropbox is a sync product at heart: a folder on your machine that mirrors the cloud, with a desktop client that has had well over a decade of work put into it. If your work depends on that folder being local and always current, that is a real advantage and it is Dropbox's.
NevTan Drive is the better fit if most of your file work could happen in a browser tab — opening a PDF and marking it up, fixing a spreadsheet, sending someone a link that expires on Friday — and you would rather not pay per tier for those to be available.
