An agency's files are its deliverables. Handing over the working file before the invoice is paid is a business problem, not a storage problem — but storage is where it gets solved.
A draft gets downloaded, edited by the client, and comes back as a version nobody recognises.
Feedback arrives across email, chat and a call, and none of it is attached to the thing it is about.
Brand assets are re-sent every few weeks because the client cannot find the last email.
Freelancers need access for six weeks and keep it for two years.
In practice
How NevTan Drive handles it
Show without handing over
A preview-only link lets a client review a draft in the browser without being able to download the working file.
Feedback on the file
Comments attach to the file itself and are gated by role, so approval lives next to the work rather than in an inbox.
Access that ends
Freelancer and client links can expire on a date, or require a password to open.
Decks and docs in the browser
Edit presentations, documents and spreadsheets in Drive and export real .pptx, .docx and .xlsx files.
A folder per client
Per-client folders with search, stars and Recent keep active accounts findable without a naming convention nobody follows.
A record of the handover
The audit log shows when a deliverable was shared and when it was opened.
A shared workspace per client
Each client gets a folder that acts as the shared workspace: the account team joins as Editors, a freelancer as a Commenter for one project, and access is granted and removed at the folder rather than file by file.
Brand assets that stay findable
Logos, typefaces, templates and approved photography live in one folder per brand, previewed in the browser at full size, so nobody rebuilds a deck from a screenshot of a logo again.
A round of client review
Put the draft in the client's folder.
Send a preview-only link so the work can be reviewed but not downloaded.
Collect feedback as comments on the file, where it stays attached to the version it refers to.
Revise, then share the final as a normal link once the work is signed off.
Expire the freelancer's access when the project closes.
Questions
What agencies ask
Straight answers, including where NevTan Drive is not the right tool.
How is this different from ordinary file management for marketing agencies?
Two things agencies hit that other teams do not. Client work has to be reviewable without being downloadable, so a preview-only link lets someone approve a draft without walking away with the file. And brand assets have to stay findable across dozens of accounts, so folders are permissioned per client rather than per file.
Can a client view a draft without downloading it?
Yes. A share link can be set to preview-only, which turns off downloading for whoever opens it, so they can read the draft but not take the working file away. It is a business control, not a security guarantee — anyone can still photograph a screen.
Can I take access away from a freelancer when a project ends?
Yes. Remove them as a collaborator, or let their share link expire on a date you set when you created it.
Do the editors produce real Office files?
Yes. The document, spreadsheet and presentation editors export real .docx, .xlsx and .pptx files, so what a client receives opens in Office.
